SNH Increases Quarterly Common Dividend to $.31 per Share

Newton, MA (April 8, 2002): Senior Housing Properties Trust (NYSE: SNH) today announced it has increased the quarterly dividend to $0.31/share (or $1.24/share per year). This dividend will be paid to shareholders of record as of the close of business on April 23, 2002 and will be distributed on or about May 21, 2002.

Senior Housing Properties Trust is a real estate investment trust headquartered in Newton, MA which has $1.2 billion invested in senior living properties located in 28 states.
